I came to Toronto Tech Week to meet builders. What stayed with me most was the human side of building. It was energizing to feel the momentum in the city and connect with so many people face to face.

Over the week, I introduced Joe Speaking and shared my personal building story with 50+ people in person. Those conversations helped me refine my narrative and better understand how people outside my usual bubble see the product.

A few thoughts I’m taking away:

1. “The Great Conversation” was one of the standout events for me.

Technology should not only chase efficiency, or 10x and 100x speed. It should also feel more human, deepen our collective intelligence, and grow through real conversations with others.

2. After talking with many founders, one thing stood out: you have to keep trusting yourself.

Trust what you are building. Trust the direction you chose. That trust is what keeps you moving, and it is also what makes you responsible for your own path.

3. The goal of these events is not just to add more LinkedIn connections.

I honestly prefer one deep conversation with one person over many surface-level showcases. Real connection matters more. Really grateful for the conversations with builders.

P.S.

1. At almost every formal event, people were talking about the US. Just my observation.

2. 🤣 My Psyduck hat became a highlight and helped me start conversations as an introvert. Sometimes you need something simple that makes you stand out.

Stay human. Connect through real human touch!

That is why I came here in person, talked to people, and left space for serendipity.
