In 2024, I could only build a personal website using Notion or pre-made templates.
By 2025, I had created several personal portfolios, and I realized it was time to build a new site, a central place to showcase what I build, share thoughts, and write freely.

Thanks to Lovable, Kiro, Cursor, and Claude Code, I built my new website with 186 commits. And I believe anyone can create a personalized, beautiful website to express themselves outside of centralized platforms, even without coding or technical knowledge. (Though, frankly speaking, it’s still challenging for most people. Products like Lovable are doing an excellent job, and there’s a huge opportunity in this area.)

If you’re curious about the details of how I built it:
- August 1st: I drafted a detailed prompt leveraging my previous Notion pages. After several rounds of testing different prompts across multiple tools, Lovable emerged as the winner. My animated avatar was created with Owen3-Coder.
- August 2nd-3rd: Integrated my old Notion database. This is something I couldn’t have imagined before. Initially, I planned to just embed my blog page directly, but after multiple rounds of conversations and tests, the AI integration worked seamlessly.
- August 4th: Implemented dynamic social media sharing functionality and redesigned some pages.
The most exciting part was integrating my previous Notion pages and database. Now, my old blog posts appear directly on my new website.

Moreover, when I share a blog post, the site automatically uses the first image as a social media preview—far better than Notion’s default links.
A year ago, I couldn't have imagined building such a beautiful and customizable personal website. Honestly, it was still expensive to build the first version, requiring a one-month Lovable Pro subscription and one month of Cursor Pro credits (and thanks to free Kiro).
This is just the beginning. Everyone can build their own site to match their needs. I can't imagine what it will look like next year.
Nevertheless, this is a birthday gift to myself. I love it! I plan to continue improving it and hope to write down more of my thoughts here.
My First Birthday in Canada 🎉
It was a good day. I’m thankful for all the friends around me. This summer feels like living in a post-AGI world—cooking, trying new food, doing dishes, cleaning, sleeping, and working on what I love (like building this site), without worrying about the outside world.
I don't need a billion, but a million might be enough (if you live a normal life).
(One simply way is to just Invest in the AI or related stocks, you will become rich without work but you need to hold a long-term view…)
AI is advancing faster than expected. I’m a living example, my capabilities and productivity have grown rapidly this year.

The future will be different. Just have fun. This website is an example of that.

Birthday Wish 🎯
I hope to achieve 8777 on the IELTS General Test by the end of this year. It’s my only wish for this year.
It's a tough goal. I took a mock test two weeks ago, and I'm still far from it. But I'm grateful for my old friend Mark's encouragement and support.
(I found that I have a strong interest in vibe coding and building, but it's difficult for me to memorize writing patterns... I hope to explore new ways using these AI tools. Honestly speaking, I could achieve this target without these tools...)
(I regard this as an opportunity to further improve my English proficiency . This is also another chance to explore AI deeply. It's a long-term game…)
One roommate shared Mr. Okoloko's video with me, and I couldn't stop laughing while watching the whole episode. This was exactly how I learned English when I was a kid.
Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Let’s see where this goal takes me!
